Return of the Great Round
The fantastic story of the musical Return of the Great Round is the return of Arthur, Merlin and the knights and ladies of the round table to save a grove of Sacred Redwood trees in imminent danger of destruction. These members of the round table solicit the help of Jeanna, a modern day tree sitter, to help them do the magic necessary to stop Malick, a greedy landowner, from destroying the sacred grove. Underlying this plot is the theme of time as an eternal circle in which people evolve and old loves return. In this circular process, Arthur evolves from an old warrior to a wiser king and returns to Avalon to complete his personal round of growth.

This musical has all the components which make it successful - beautiful music, suspense, humor, romance, and the theme of an eternal circle of time in which the existence of a grove of redwood trees can mean the difference between the life and death of humanity. All the songs of this musical have been performed and recorded on a brilliant CD by some of the best singers from the Spokane area including Max Mendez, John Frankhauser and Anne Fennessey. This musical addresses the global warming crises we now face with the death of great forests. To heal the earth, this musical looks to the example of the great archetypal leaders Arthur and Merlin for ways we can evolve as individuals and humanity.
I am the poet-writer who wrote the script and lyrics of Return of the Great Round, while William Berry, a former member of the Spokane Symphony, is the talented musician who composed the music.
